Course Description: 

Getting to results in complex conditions

Agile project management with Scrum differs from classic project management in its emphasis on iterative, flexible and collaborative approaches. It requires the courage for trial and error processes. While classic project management is based on detailed plans and fixed processes. The agile approach focuses on continuous exchange within the team, quick adjustments to changing requirements, and the use of Scrum principles such as backlogs, sprints, user stories and regular retrospectives. This methode enables the achievment of intended results.

Through the simulation of such a project and many exercises, methods and their theoretical assumptions can be experienced in the seminar. In the past, the participants had a lot of fun practicing and trying things out.

Course aims: 

Agile mindset:

  • Understanding of agile values and principles.
  • Developing an agile mindset and a flexible mindset

  • Ability to work effectively as a team
  • Promoting communication, openness and mutual respect
  • Promote a supportive and motivating environment

SCRUM methodology:

  • Knowledge of the roles (product owner, scrum master, development team) and their responsibilities
  • Understanding of Scrum artifacts
  • Prioritize and maintain a product backlog
  • Visualization with Kanban
  • Planning sprints and achieving sprint goals

Leadership:

  • Development of leadership skills in an agile context
  • Dealing with conflicts within the team
Teaching methods: 

Presentation, simulations, discussion, individual case studies.
