Course Description: 

Personal and Social Competence

People who score high in Emotional Intelligence are aware of their strengths and weaknesses, have a high level of self-confidence, socialize easily, maintain good relationships, and are able to resolve and prevent conflicts. Consequently, Emotional Intelligence is a key factor to success and happiness.

Fortunately, it is possible to enhance Emotional Intelligence throughout one's lifetime. The workshop helps to analyze and re-evaluate behavioural patterns to initiate positive changes. It contributes significantly to the development of a positive attitude towards life and an improvement of social relationships.

Course aims: 
  • Concept of Emotional Intelligence 
  • Self Awareness – Monitoring emotions, exercising mindfulness
  • Self Analysis – The structure of personality, analysis of ego states (Transactional Analysis)
  • Script Analysis – socialization, culture, standards, values, convictions, drivers, vulnerabilities, expectations towards life
  • Self Management – Exercising self-control, getting impulses in check, self-organization
  • Social Awareness and Empathy – Understanding other people, recognizing non-verbal signs, considering situational and social contexts
  • Relationship Management – Communication model (TA), identifying miscommunication, changing "ego states", addressing problems, recognizing and preventing psychological games
  • Self Improvement Strategies – Fields to work on, establishing routines
Teaching methods: 

Interactive lecture, discussions, small group exercises, self-reflection exercises.
