In an increasingly confusing world you often miss out on important information if you are not in close contact with others. You don't hear about job offers, don't know anyone for a research cooperation or don't get helpful tips from experts. The better you are connected, the more you can pursue your own goals AND help others with theirs.
Therefore, this workshop wants to support you in finding and deepening your individual way of networking, based on your goals, personality, and competences. The workshop will cover general basics of networking as well as the question which contacts seem to make sense for you and how and where they can be established and maintained. In this context, the topics conversation and social networks on the internet will be considered.
All of this in an environment characterised by individual and group work, which does not expose the individuals but gives space to their wishes, additions and criticism.
- Participants reflect their attitude towards networking and find their individual approach.
- They know the basic rules of successful networking including dos and don'ts.
- Participants evaluated their competences, networking goals and helpful contacts.
- They identified situations, events and internet platforms suitable for their networking as well as communication styles and methods (e.g., small talk and active listening)
Short sequences of frontal input alternate with individual and group work. The participants will be able to contribute their own experiences and relate their current challenges in an interactive setting.
