Course Description:

Prerequisites for attending: none
Description of Contents:
- Theoretical background of gene delivery and gene therapy
- Safety regulations to consider before start
- Available vector systems (Oncolytic adenovirus vectors, Gene delivery: CRISPR-Cas9, shRNA delivery)
- Production and purification of adenovirus and lentivirus
- Methods for the detection of viral particles, cell lysis activity, infectivity
Learning Objectives:
Aim of this workshop is to introduce the multifaceted use of viral particles in research and therapy. Therefore, prerequisites to work with viruses, introduction into different types of viruses, how to handle a virus and the direct application to cells and analysis of these will be covered.
Exam: Oral exam at the end of the workshop

Attention: This course will also be offered in the week from 03.05.-07.05.!!!! Each time only three participants.
