“A fulfilling career emerges when people consciously align their values, goals and competencies with the kind of life they truly want to live.”
Especially within academia and research, many people face the challenge of shaping their professional path independently while navigating between different opportunities, expectations and personal priorities. This involves not only deciding on the next career step, but also reflecting on which kind of work, collaboration and lifestyle truly aligns with one’s own values, goals and needs in the long term.
This training supports participants in gaining clarity about their personal and professional goals, competencies and development opportunities and in deriving concrete strategies for their future professional and personal path. Participants reflect on their own values, resources, life goals and career aspirations and explore different professional opportunities both within and outside academia. They learn how to strategically plan professional goals, consciously set priorities and connect long-term career development with their everyday time and work organisation.
Furthermore, the training addresses topics such as self-positioning, communication, networking, dealing with uncertainty and setbacks, and the question of how to make conscious and self-determined career decisions. The training combines reflection, exchange and practical methods from self-leadership, career planning, project management and communication. The goal is not only for participants to develop new perspectives, but also to define concrete next steps for their professional future and directly translate them into action.
