Organise Deliberately. Prioritise Intentionally. Work Sustainably.
We all know the feeling: sitting in front of a laptop all day long, yet accomplishing nothing. Virtual meetings shred our working day, a labyrinth of open tabs surrounds us, and our inbox simply refuses to get empty. Precious time for our doctorate seems lost.
Effective time management minimises this loss. Far from being a luxury, it is a prerequisite for achieving solid results while maintaining motivation. The workshop addresses essential elements of this 'art' — whether you are looking to optimise existing skills or break free from persistent cycles of unproductivity and dissatisfaction.
Together, we engage with time competence holistically – far beyond simple to-do lists or a collection of apps. At the center lie questions of effectiveness, planning, and decision-making. The real challenge is learning to guide yourself focused on important results while developing energy-conscious routines. We will practice all such aspects in a hands-on, practical setting.
Our overarching goal is to empower you to organise and reclaim your digitalised work life — efficiently, self-determined, and above all, healthily.
Workshop Content:
- Self-assessment and situational analysis
- Time competence and procrastination
- Deep work, nudging, and attention as a resource
- Energy management and work-life balance
- Planning and prioritisation techniques (ALPS method)
- Efficient email management (Zero Inbox)
- Transfer to practice: my personal development concept
- Analyse your current approach to time management
- Strengthen your knowledge of energy-conscious self-organisation
- Acquire specific planning techniques and apply them effectively
- Develop communication and media competencies adapted to your digitalised academic work environment
- Gain immediately applicable practical knowledge and realise your individual, personality-aligned workflow
The online workshop is designed to be interactive and practice-oriented. On both days, we will use Zoom and Miro for live collaboration combining thematic inputs with exercises conducted individually, in pairs, or in the full group. Additionally, there will be dedicated time for peer exchange and discussion.
By the end of the first day, you will have learned a time competence model that you can customise to your needs and apply during self-paced learning phases between the two workshop days.

While this course focuses on macro-time management, it complements the course 'Deep Work' (micro-time management). Although some content may overlap, the two courses complement each other meaningfully.
- Interactive. Good and nice environment where you can share your thoughts and concerns. Nice way of interaction with Miro.
- Learned techniques were directly implemented during exercises. Interactive content using MIRO to display our ideas and plans. Daniel has always great feedback on our questions.
- The course was very well structured, clearly presented. There were presentations, individual and group work that kept the content interactive.
