A career in science management has become an increasingly attractive option. But what does working in science management actually involve? What are the requirements and career prospects? And how can one successfully enter the field?
This workshop is aimed at doctoral candidates and postdocs who are interested in pursuing a career in science management.
- You will gain an overview of the job market and potential employers.
- You will learn about the fields of activity and responsibilities of science managers.
- You will understand which competencies are essential in science management and how to further develop them.
PD Dr. Kristin Knipfer will present examples of career paths in science management, drawing on research findings and her own professional experience. Through exercises and discussion rounds, you will reflect on whether science management is an attractive career option for you. You are warmly invited to bring your own questions and discussion points.
