Course Description: 

Would you like to know how often your scientific publications are cited and what h-index and impact factor mean? Do you want to clean up your author profiles in Scopus or Web of Science and thus improve the visibility of your research on the Internet?

Course aims: 

Visibility as an author
Identity management for authors with the ORCID ID
Author profiles in literature databases (Web of Science/Publons, Scopus and Google Scholar)
Publication guidelines of the TUM (regulations on affiliation information)
Bibliometric methods and databases used
Journal metrics (e.g. Journal Impact Factor, CiteScore)
Person metrics (e.g. h-index)
Article metrics
Responsible metrics: Critical examination of the possibilities and limitations of bibliometrics

Teaching methods: 

In the workshop, input from the lecturers alternates with exercises for the participants. There is always room for questions.
