In this advanced R course you will improve your skills of using R and doing statistical analysis.
The course in October 2025 will focus on Generalized Additive Models (GAMs).
This course builds on the knowledge you have from the Basic R Course. So you need to be familiar with R, with the basic statistics and the statistical methods provided in the Basic R Course (descriptive statistics, graphics, simple significance tests, checking assumptions for tests and models, factorial ANOVAs, linear and logistic regression).
Within the course you will get exercises and example data to apply everything that you learn directly. It is also possible to ask questions concerning your own projects and to bring your own data.
The course consists of 4 online meetings (each about 1.5 hours). The first 3 meetings start with a Q&A part about the last topic and the exercises followed by an input with the new topic. The last meeting is a final Q&A session. Between the appointments you will have to work on exercises on your own.
