Beschreibung Kursinhalt: 

The workshop illustrates all departments within pharmaceutical companies which offer interest-ing positions for life scientists. What is their daily business, what can be beneficial for job preparation? Important keywords will be addressed such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), Pharma Risk Management, Process Validation and Quality Control. 
INTERACTIVE PART: participants actively elaborate a concept for a GMP compliant drug within a fictional company, which will be audited by participants in a simulated FDA inspection. 
The workshop will effectively prepare student for jobs in pharmaceutical industry focusing on quality management.

Lernziele: 

Application of GMP in pharmaceutical companies
Development, production and testing of drugs
Learning how to audit and being audited

Lehrmethoden: 

Information delivery combined with case studies and interactive participation.
Final part will be a complete interaction of all participants:
group 1: setting up an own pharma company and creating a GMP environment around a fictional product
group 2: acting as FDA inspectors and challenging the other group with typical audit questions

Dr. Grote-Westrick studied biochemistry at Ruhr-University in Bochum followed by diploma thesis at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. After PhD Thesis at RUB and Yale School of Medicine Dr. Grote-Westrick started industry business at different biotech companies in various positions.
