Introduction to the course topics:

Professional facilitation greatly increases the effectiveness of meetings. Complicated issues can be addressed in a structured and and goal-oriented manner. A well-defined goal, basic knowledge of facilitation tools and group dynamics, and a clear understanding of the role of the facilitator are important prerequisites for successful facilitation. This workshop provides basic techniques for structuring discussions and facilitating meetings. Participants will learn how to use appropriate tools and precise questions to maintain a common thread, engage all participants in the process, and visualize results. The focus of this workshop is on practical exercises with feedback from the group and the trainer.

Course aims:

  • Structure discussions in a goal-oriented way.
  • Foster active participation and involve the participants in the process.
  • Understand the group dynamics and influence it positively.
  • Manage challenging situations professionally.

Teaching Methods:

Theoretical input, practical exercises with feedback from the group and from, excercises with video analysis.

Dr. Markus Gyger

Dr. Markus Gyger obtained a PhD in biophysics from the University of Leipzig. Since 2011, he has been working as a freelance trainer and coach. The focus of his work is to equip prospective managers and junior scientists with the key skills necessary for a successful career: performing convincingly in front of an audience, organizing their work effectively and conducting meetings in a goal-oriented manner.
