Introduction to the course topics:

Science depends more and more on interdisciplinary cooperation. Creativity and breakthroughs in science need open-mindedness and out-of-the-box-thinking that allow pushing limits. Doing that is like entering a new world where you need a new language. In this course you will learn effective tools and strategies for dealing with interdisciplinary cooperation. You will learn how to make teamwork really work, and how to deal respectfully with different knowledge and insights. After this course you will be able to use different tools and techniques for consultation and moderation that were designed to work in international, interdisciplinary and cooperative contexts.

Teaching Methods: Visualized impulses, interactive workshop-tools, practical project-simulation, interviews and best practice, collegial conflict consulting

Wolfgang Fänderl

Wolfgang Fänderl M.A. studied educational science at Ludwig- Maximilians-University. He was project manager at INKOMM, the Center for Intercultural Communication Munich, where he developed courses for students and multiplicators on intercultural competence and conflict management. From 2000 until 2004 he conducted research at the Centre of Applied Policy Research (CAP) for the Bertelsmann Foundation to develop a project framework for voluntary cooperation. Since 2005 Wolfgang Fänderl is coach and trainer for „Cooperation and Diversity Management“ at TUM Gender Equality Office and other freelance projects. Beyond further trainings as systemic counselor, change manager and large-group-facilitator, he developed and implemented own methods to enhance cooperation and networking.
