Introduction to the course topics:
We will study culture specific knowledge (East-West: USA:Europe - Asia) in relation to international management. The awareness of communication-, management- and leadership methods in different cultures will be raised. Culture related techniques and behaviors are explained and trained in role plays and exercises. Different management practices in business situations will be addressed.
Course aims:
- Learn about Culture dimensions for different countries
- Acquire Management and communication skills
- Understand impact of culture on management functions in different cultures
- Be aware of business etiquette in foreign countries
- Increase your awareness with people from different cultures
Teaching methods: Interactive presentation, discussion, exercises, short movies, role-plays, games

Dr. Peter O. Hahn is a 69 year old physicist, who spent 30 years in the semiconductor industry; 10 years in research, 10 years in development and 10 years in marketing in leading positions. 2 years he spent as a Post Doc in the USA (IBM Yorktown Heights) and 4 years in Asia (Singapore) as marketing director responsible for Asia. After his professional career he worked as consultant and trainer at companies, universities and business schools. He focuses always on the impact and influence of culture (people from different countries) on management and negotiatons in business. During his professional career he realized that this is a very important skill and competence for success in business.
