Description: The seminar is aimed at all those who want to get to know the version management system Git and use it efficiently in software projects.
Content:
- Basics: installation and setup, local and remote repositories, architecture and operation, what can be versioned?
- Version management: initialization, first commands: add, commit, file manipulation: rename, copy and move, delete, ignore, dealing with history, branching, tagging, versioning, merging and rebasing, branching and merging: the Gitflow
- Repositories: distributed repositories push and pull requests, remote branches, strategies for working with distributed repositories: centralized repository, integration manager, lieutenant/dictator
- Tools: graphical tools for administration and management, integration into the file system of the operating system, integration in development environments, build process and continuous integration, GitLab: A dedicated GIT server: installation, configuration, operation, GitHub: a public repository of the open source community
