Introduction to the course topics:
People who score high in Emotional Intelligence are aware of their strengths and weaknesses, have a high level of self-confidence, socialize easily, maintain good relationships, and resolve and prevent conflicts. Consequently, Emotional Intelligence is a key factor to success and happiness. Fortunately, it is possible to enhance Emotional Intelligence throughout one's lifetime. The workshop helps to analyze and re-evaluate behavioral patterns to initiate positive changes. It contributes significantly to the development of a positive attitude towards life and an improvement of social relationships. Furthermore, the increase of Emotional Intelligence is a potent tool for the prevention of burnout and conflicts.

Teaching methods:
Introduction to several psychological concepts, empirical findings, and tools to apply to everyday life. Concepts from Transactional Analysis, cognitive therapy and more. Interactive presentation, work in small groups (break-out session) and flexible discussion of specific questions and issues of the participants.

This course is offered in German and English in winter and summer semester, respectively.
Beatrix Stahlberger is a psychologist with a specialization in social, intercultural and clinical psychology. Additional qualification in Transactional Analysis (coaching certificate). Since 1998 she holds seminars and training in emotional intelligence, leadership, time management, conflict management and intercultural competence for organizations, universities and companies. She has her own training institute in Düsseldorf.
