Introduction to the course topics:

Proficiency in public speaking is a key factor in achieving recognition in your scientific community. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, more and more informal talks, lectures and conferences are being held online. It is foreseeable that this trend will continue even after the current crisis. If you present yourself and your results convincingly, you can draw attention to your work and hence pave the way to scientific exchange or collaboration, and even career opportunities. To achieve this, thorough preparation and sufficient practice are crucial. This training is aimed at participants who have already taken a basic presentation course or who already have experiences with (offline) presentations. In the first part of this training you will learn the basics for a successful online presentation and put them into practice by preparing a short presentation. In the second part you will give this presentation as an exercise and get detailed feedback.
