Introduction to the course topics:

The typical situation for PhD students working in complex environments means: being responsible for a project result and relying on partners without any power to direct them. It means leading without being the boss. In order to achieve results, they have to be self confident and manage themselves. They also have to have socio-communicative skills and management skills. All of those will be adressed and trained in the seminar.

Course aims:

• On a personal level: self confidence in responsible positions
• On the level on management skills: certainty in applying adequate methods in meetings and workshops
• On the level of social and communication skills: knowing how to engage, empower and align people in complex work situations for valueable goals

Teaching methods: Short inputs, simulations, exercises, video-clips

This course fits doctoral candidates in the following phase: during the doctorate | at the end of the doctorate

Literature: None.

Technical requirements: Participants need to bring their notebook.
