Module 2, Course 1: Mastering International Projects (October 12-13, 2021)

In our days research & development and doctoral projects are international endeavors. Researchers from institutes worldwide work together to solve complex and demanding research problems, publish joint papers, and prepare poster sessions for international conferences

In this course, you will learn

• to structure and plan your doctoral thesis as a project using globally accepted tools and techniques
• to prepare and master all the small projects (like papers, poster, etc.) in parallel to your Ph. D. project
• terms used in project management globally
• to communicate efficiently with colleagues and fellows abroad using modern collaboration tools
• how to organize yourself to stay focused on your project work
• to identify intercultural aspects in virtual project teams

You will get theoretical and practical input, work in teams, and on your project, and solve different exercises.

Thomas Becker will conduct this course in English.

Thomas Becker supports project teams and organizations as a Senior Trainer and Consultant, designing and facilitating trainings and workshops for managers and teams. Thomas is a certified Project Management Professional, Scrum Master, and a certified Live Online Trainer. He delivers international and intercultural trainings and workshops onsite and virtually. Thomas worked at the Institute for Electrical Engineering and Acoustics, and the subject of his Ph.D. thesis at the Institute for Sociology (University of Münster) was Technology Assessment. He worked as a project manager in a Technology Center and is one of the publishers of "Kooperationsmanagement," Thomas is publishing articles and working as a speaker on project management.
