Writing your dissertation is comparable to running a marathon: you need stamina and determination. To avoid feelings of being lost, alone, and disoriented, join this two-day workshop and get support for managing your writing.
During the dissertation process, you are required to write and publish at least one scientific paper. To rise up to the challenge of such a project, you will need manifold competences, profound knowledge of the genre, and a realistic picture about the expectations to meet.

- Structure and style in scientific papers
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to
- Analyze and evaluate sample papers

- Create a repertoire of effective self-editing tools.

This online workshop will profit from the rhythmical change between trainer input by learning videos and web-based streaming, live discussions, chats, group work and writing assignments supported by the TUM Moodle platform. A slot for consultation can be booked to reflect on your writing output improved after the lessons learnt.
Aniko Balazs will conduct this course in English.
Dr. Aniko Balazs took her doctorate in comparative sociolinguistics. She worked as an interpreter and translator for English, Russian, German and Hungarian in different fields of medicine and computer science. She taught Medical English at the Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest and subsequently switched to the University of Applied Sciences, Munich, where she has been teaching Computer English and Technical Writing for more than 16 years. As a freelancer, she offers seminars, workshops and coaching in Scientific Writing.
