Working effectively in International Research Teams (online)

Cross-cultural collaboration in international teams has become a crucial everyday part of scientific working environments and understanding the keys of successful collaboration is important for academic career paths. 

The aim of the training is to prepare participants for effective teamwork from an intercultural perspective in academia. To achieve this goal, we will work with science-based models, short lectures and exercises with a strong focus on the relevance for your professional and daily life. 

Course content

• Engage individually with our own cultural backgrounds and their impact on intercultural collaboration 
• Analyze teamwork in an intercultural context 
• Develop strategies for self-experienced difficult situations in international teams

After this workshop you will:

• Be able to analyze situations of your work life in an international team
• Know strategies to deal with intercultural situations
• Have the basics to feel more secure when intercultural situations in your work occur.

The workshop will be a mix of input, working on case studies, discussions, group work via zoom. Between the two sessions you will get task for individual work. So please include some amount of time to work on these assignments.
