In this course you will learn how to apply the principles of creative thinking and use a systematic process of creative thinking to consciously develop new ideas and workable solutions. You will learn the skills and develop the mindset to be more creative on a daily basis in both your professional and private life. You will experience how to combine cre­ative thinking with logical and analytical thinking.

The contents:
1. Creativity - what it is and what it depends on
2. Challenges that require creativity
3. Principles of creative thinking: divergent and convergent thinking
4. The mindset of innovative people: Develop thinking patterns and behaviors that facilitate new solutions
5. How interdisciplinary teams affect the creative output
6. Introduction to a systematic process of creative thinking
7. Thinking tools to clarify and define problems using creativity
8. Creativity techniques to systematically develop new ideas
9. Thinking tools to choose, evaluate and further develop ideas

Methods:
1. Interactive lecture
2. Individual work as well as in small and in large groups
3. Feedback and discussion after each exercise
4. Application of the contents on real life challenges

Daniel Barth will conduct this course in English.

Daniel Barth majored in Chinese and Japanese studies at the University of Munich and the Capital Normal University in Beijing. After graduation he worked in the start-up-scene for several years. He completed the APE program at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship in Munich, a one year education program on user centered innovation and entrepreneurship.

He continually receives training on creative and innovative methods at different academic institutions. He is active as a trainer, facilitator and consultant. Daniel Barth currently lives in Munich.
