confocal microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, quantitative microscopy, fluorescent reporters, dyes, FRET-FLIM
Beschreibung Kursinhalt:

The aim of this course is to provide an overview of microscopy techniques for students who wish to use light microscopy to address cell biology research questions. The course will provide a framework for selecting the most appropriate light microscopy method for a given biological question. Both conventional and advanced techniques like super-resolution microscopy will be covered, and the limitations of the techniques presented will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on good practices regarding experimental design, data analysis and data reporting in a publication context.

Lernziele:

•Fundamental principles of quantitative light microscopy
• Guidelines for live and fixed sample preparation
• Overview of confocal microscopy techniques and framework to select the most appropriate
• Overview of super-resolution microscopy techniques and framework to select the most appropriate
•Good practice regarding data acquisition, data reporting and data management

Lehrmethoden:

Lecture, interactive

Dr. Marie-Dominique Jolivet

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Chair of Plant Cell Biology. My research focuses on membrane-based processes during plant immune responses, which I study using a wide range of photonic microscopy techniques, including super-resolution microscopy.
